I use KPhotoAlbum (formerly KimDaBa) to manage the hundreds of photographs I take per year. It stores info about them in an XML database, which I then publish to this website.
The images are synchronized to Amazon S3 using a program called s3sync. The website is hosted by NearlyFreeSpeech.net. I pay about 20 cents per month for the two of those together.
